Career-Technical Education Nondiscrimination Statement

Rutherford County Schools offers a comprehensive program of Career and Technical Education (CTE) for students in grades 6-12 at CHASE Middle School, East Rutherford Middle School, R-S Middle School, CHASE High School, East Rutherford High School, R-S Central High School, and Rutherford Opportunity Center. Programs are offered in Agricultural Education; Business, Finance, and Marketing Education; Career Development Education; Computer Science and Information Technology Education; Health Science Education; Family and Consumer Sciences Education; Middle Grades CTE; and, Trade and Industrial Education. Additionally, special services are available for students needing assistance to succeed in CTE areas.
 
Job shadowing and other career exploration opportunities are available to students in grades 6-12.  Not all programs are available in all schools.  Career Exploration and additional CTE course offerings are available for students in grades 6-8 at CHASE Middle School, East Rutherford Middle School, and R-S Middle School. The school district’s vision is that “all Rutherford County students will graduate prepared for college and career success.” The district’s mission is that “Rutherford County Schools will prepare all students for lifelong learning in a global community by partnering with families and communities to promote a safe, nurturing school environment and provide rigorous academic and career preparation experiences.”
 
It is the policy of Rutherford County Schools that all students are admitted to CTE courses without regard to race, color, religion, national origin, sex, or handicapping conditions. Title IX of the Education Amendments of 1972 prohibits discrimination on the basis of gender in education programs. Each school in the Rutherford County Schools system along with the Cool Springs Administrative Office has conducted self-evaluations to identify and remove any and all practices in conflict with Title IX.  Section 504 of the Rehabilitation Act of 1973 prohibits discrimination on the basis of handicap in education programs.
