RCS Schools Recognized At October Board Meeting

October 2011Rutherford County Schools and the Board of Education recognized several of its schools at the October Board Meeting held on October 4th.  Ellenboro Elementary School was recognized for achieving High Growth, while Forrest Hunt, Harris, Sunshine, and Spindale Elementary schools, as well as Chase Middle School, were recognized for achieving Expected Growth for the 2010-2011 school year.  These distinctions are made by the North Carolina Department of Public Instruction based on the ABC/AYP results for each school.

Also, principal Jason Byrd of Pinnacle Elementary School was recognized by CompassLearning Odyssey for his leadership in helping Compass pilot and develop their highly-acclaimed curriculum and assessment software.
