In Rutherford County Schools, we are building a three tiered system of support for all students. We work to integrate the following: Responsiveness to Instruction (RtI) and Positive Behavior Intervention and Support (PBIS).
MTSS provides consistent methods to identify students who struggle, target tiered instruction and intervention supports, and progress monitoring. It also provides a consistent methodology for evaluating the effectiveness and success of that system of supports.
