CORONAVIRUS & COVID-19 Information
The safety and well-being of RCS staff and students are always a priority. Staff and students are encouraged to stay home when sick to reduce the risk of transmitting communicable illnesses.
For the 2023-2024 school year, Rutherford County Schools continues to implement a layered prevention strategy to reduce the risk of COVID-19 in the school setting. We maintain a close partnership with the Rutherford County Health Department and follow Centers for Disease Control and Prevention guidance regarding the handling of COVID-positive individuals. Upon request, rapid antigen testing is available on school campuses through our school nurses. Parental consent is required for student testing.
Note: After the closure of schools on March 14, 2020, Rutherford County Schools returned to face-to-face instruction on September 8, 2020.
