Program Services
Rutherford County Schools views gifted programming and services as a collaborative effort, which is integrated with differentiation offered in the general education programming. |
Elementary School Programming: Serve identified students (Grade 4-5) and potential gifted students (Grades K-5) through a blended service model to include classroom learning environments, pull-out service, push-in service and an expanded nurturing component.
- Grades K-3 : G.E.A.R. Program (Gifted Enrichment and Acceleration Readiness) provides nurturing and talent development
- Grades 4-5 : Reading and Math Innovation Days
- Grades 3-5: Camp Innovate Summer Enrichment Program
Middle School Programming : AIG identified students in grades 6-8 are served in the general education setting. Students are offered courses that are differentiated though our “rigor in the middle” initiative (PLUS classes).
High School Programming: Courses at the high school level are self selected. Additional options for AIG students are:
- Advanced Placement Academy / Advanced Placement Courses
- Dual Enrollment
- North Carolina Virtual Public Schools
- North Carolina School of Science and Math
- Rutherford Early College High School
- Credit by Demonstrated Mastery
