I.C.O.N. Award
Do you want to recognize an RCS employee for going above and beyond the call of duty?
Here’s your chance: You can nominate any RCS employee for the I.C.O.N. Award. This award acknowledges employees as an ICON who Inspires others, Collaborates effectively, Optimizes success, or Nurtures positive relationships. Awards will be presented periodically throughout the year.
Who is eligible for the award?
Nominees must be employed full-time and have been a RCS employee for a minimum of six months. Anyone working in the district, including teachers, administrators, custodians, secretaries, district support staff, bus drivers, nurses, counselors, etc., is eligible for a nomination. Awards will be given each month of the school year.
Who can nominate a RCS employee?
The nomination process is open to all employees, parents and community members using the online submission.
What criteria will be used in the review of nominations?
The following criteria will be considered in the review of nominations:
- Inspire: recognizes students’ unique potential and motivates a passion for learning; creates a positive, supportive, and reassuring climate that celebrates diversity.
- Collaborate: consistently and substantially demonstrates the ability and willingness to work positively, respectfully, and effectively with others; has significantly improved customer service or has increased student satisfaction in their area.
- Optimize: has significantly improved a work process or system, or has significantly increased the efficiency of an operation or department; consistently seeks to improve the quality of work assigned.
- Nurture: focuses on the wellbeing and relationships with a drive to support the growth and development of students; has made important and significant contributions in furthering the development of social and emotional growth in students; has furthered the mission of the Rutherford County Schools.
